Favorite Dancer

Hey Everyone!

Now I know we all have our own favorite Prima Ballerinas and leading Men, which is based widely on the   dance companies we follow and the style we enjoy most. but recently when I was surfing the inter-webs I found my "god of dance" David Hallburg!!

Now I have seen many wonderful dancers and have even shared the stage with some unknown but never the less great ones.  But in my humble opinion David does not 'dance' he 'floats' over the stage. and not only does he have excellent technique, breathtaking jumps, wonderful musicality, and tangible passion but "HAVE YOU SEEN HIS FEET!!!" I can think of nothing that makes him less than a perfect dancer.
but these are the ravings of a simple fan-girl. and I wish to leave you with just a few questions.

who inspires you to love dance more then you did before?
who is your favorite dancer (male or female) and what company do they dance with?
Please leave your comments below! and keep loving dance.

The First Steps

*
Well, the first week of classes went really well. Which was surprising since I haven't so much as stepped foot into a dance studio for over 2 months! And haven't taken a real class since I was 13.
The surprise was bitter-sweet though, as it showed me that some things I thought I was good at needed lots of work! But it also showed me that I'm good at things I didn't even know I was good at!

We started class with a basic barre, which although technically simple, (as this was a beginners class, and I knew the theory behind each move) it was physically challenging for me. At the end of the barre we did some abdominal exercises to help strengthen our cores.    Then we moved on to Center work, The center work was beautiful, and fun, and challenging, and rewarding all at once! But I realized by the end of the first class just how out of shape I really was.         We ended class with a beautiful Port de bras ["carriage of the arms"] which I got to lead at the second class.^_^

Over all every one in class was so wonderful and nice! And the teacher was so sweet and encouraging! And I am so looking forward to the next class!

Hello, Allow me start with a little introduction.  My name is Naomi, I have loved dance and performing arts since I was very young, I was introduced to Ballet at age 13 and then for many reasons I was unable to take any form of dance class until age 18. I am now 20 years old and have just started attending a class that focuses on classical ballet.
I created this blog to conical my journey through the dance world. so come with me into a world of music and movement, corrections and short-comings, and hopefully a little bit of laughter on the side (after all that is the best medicine).
